Service Governance
Service Registry and Policies that Create Added Value
The SOPERA Registry makes a key contribution to decoupling service subscribers. Central directory services also improve the re-usability of services, with SOPERA building still further on this advantage through its Policies concept.
Loose Coupling Provides Flexibility
In SOPERA ASF the registry acts as an intermediary between service subscribers and providers. After an initial query to the registry, service subscribers communicate directly with each other. This achieves a key technical prerequisite for loose coupling, and maintenance-intensive and static relationships are avoided from the very outset.
Convenient Administration and Configuration
A central overview of the services, including the versions available, makes administration considerably easier and facilitates re-use. SOPERA also supports central configuration of services, permitting rapid deployment of services on different servers.
Transparent Governance
Service Policies in SOPERA ensure that business and technical service requirements can be clearly separated. Where, for instance, two service subscribers might require different data formats, an appropriate policy can make this transparent. Hence, SOPERA supports effective service governance even for runtime.
