SOPERA ASF Release 3.3: More speed and features

SOPERA ASF’s latest 3.3 release is faster than ever before, features an integrated platform for BPM projects, and incorporates .Net systems as a fully fledged platform component.

Release 3.3 is now even faster

SOPERA ASF 3.3 delivers the best performance to date and sets new standards for speed, especially where large transaction volumes and distributed installations are concerned. Plus, for large-scale or fast growing environments, SOPERA ASF’s great scalability boasts a twofold payoff: firstly, SOPERA’s decentralized architecture means ASF 3.3 avoids bottlenecks from the outset; secondly, SOPERA’s improved performance means it tops the list of available open-source and commercial solutions thanks to up-rated message processing.

Support for new systems and security standards

Beside the functional expansion in terms of data integration and system management and monitoring, Release 3.2 also boasts other new features. As a further plug-in, for instance, SOPERA ASF now also integrates Apache ActiveMQ, a leading open source messaging server. Also new is the support for Java 6, the 64-bit versions of Windows and Linux, version 5.2 of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows Vista. As regards the security concept, the integration of the “Eclipse Higgens SAML Token Service” standard offers users extensive backup facilities with a centralized token service. The messaging has also been enhanced still further in terms of security and robustness.

Integrated platform for BPM projects

ASF 3.3 also sees the launch of the new SOPERA BPM Option Pack, enabling the realization of sophisticated BPM scenarios. Integration into the SOPERA SOA infrastructure is completely transparent, and SOPERA BPM users benefit from an integrated solution that unlocks the potential of SOA and BPM concepts. Processes are easily and intuitively generated using 3.3’s graphic editor, whilst the fully-integrated BPM server enables the orchestration of existing SOPERA services and complex processes via mouse click.

Combining .Net and Java systems

Up until now a sophisticated high-performance solution for the integration of Java and .Net - the two platforms mostly commonly used by companies and institutions - has been unavailable. Release of the new SOPERA .Net Option Pack has radically altered this, making both Java and .Net systems full-fledged participants within the SOPERA infrastructure. Integration is completely transparent, with SOPERA .Net enabling users to take huge strides towards achieving a fully integrated IT landscape, even in areas where they have previously deployed Java or .NET solutions independently.

A whole host of upgrades

SOPERA ASF 3.3 features numerous other upgrades, including up-dated run-time components and the certification of additional operating systems and application servers for use with SOPERA ASF.  Plus, a new central certificate management service ups security and simplifies administration. 3.3 also contains bug fixes to improve SOPERA ASF’s stability and reliability.
