Technical Writer – Application Integration Solutions

Location: Germany (Bonn), Ireland (Dublin) and USA (Boston)

As part of the new Application Integration Division of Talend SA, the Technical Writer Application Integration Solutions - will be responsible for the technical documentation around our Enterprise Service Bus product line.

Job profile:

The successful applicant will have an upbeat experience, he will be a focused and well-organized individual to join the R&D organization in order to create world class documentation for the Talend AI open source product portfolio.

We are looking for people who have experience to write documentation for end users of technical software and/or developers; ideally you should also be familiar with XML, Web-Services and Java basics. 

  • Create user and reference manual for the Talend AI product line (ESB)
  • Contribute Wiki-Content / Articles to open source communities (e.g. Apache CXF, Camel & Active MQ)
  • Write Tutorial, e.g. as Interactive Web Tutorial or Eclipse Help/Cheat Sheets
  • Write blog entries, magazine articles and whitepapers on focused topics in close relation to our topic experts
  • Interview developers and chase information from cross-functional teams (Development, QA, Support) to ensure technical accuracy in the manuals.
  • Proofread/Edit texts written by other team members.
  • Keep our technical documentation framework up to date

Desirable Skills and experience:

  • 2-3+ years of working experience as a technical writer
  • Degree (BA, MA) in Technical Writing, English, or a technical discipline
  • English mother tongue or excellent written and verbal skills in English, best with an additional European language.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and enjoy working in an international team environment.
  • Experience in using DITA and/or Docbook, optional experience with Adobe Framemaker and Web Works ePublisher
  • Basic technical understanding in the following areas is a strong plus: Eclipse IDE and Eclipse Help, good understanding of XML, XML Schema, Web-Services, Messaging solutions (e.g. Apache ActiveMQ) and ideally the ability to read and understand Java Code.
